Colin Firth was well past what you'd call middle aged in 2014? Middle age is generally understood as one's 40's and 50's. Colin Firth was 52 or 53 in Kingsmen. Google and Wikipedia define middle age as 45-65 and Webster defines it as 40-60 with the first pubmed article I found defed life stages as early adulthood (22-34) [so 20 year olds are not adults? stupid], early middle age (35-44), late middle age (45-64), and late adulthood (65+). Britannica defines it as 40-60 as well. Most sources specify that the precise boundaries are imprecise and subjective, but all agree that early 50's is not past middle aged. It may be due to my profession, which causes me to be around adolescents a lot, but I've noticed a trend in people thinking middle age starts in the late 20's or early 30's. Very strange.

I missed the original release of Star Wars, sadly. But just before Empire was released, my local cinema did a re-release of Star Wars, including a super-length trailer for Empire at the end. Not exactly an end-credit scene, but the ancestor of one. The theatre was packed… it was 1980, and VCRs hadn’t been invented… nobody had seen any of these characters in like 3yrs. We all needed a refresher before seeing Empire. I remember playing the audio… thing. Not just the music tracks, all the audio from the movie. We made due. And when “and Special Guest Star Billy Dee Williams” appeared, the crowd went nuts. Not that ep4 had NO named stars in it… Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing had real clout. But most of the famous people in that movie are famous because of that movie.

You have very limited view of films, as though none were made before you were born. For instance, the scene in the 1968 film, "Dark of the Sun" wherein Curry and Rufo have to go into the hotel to retrieve the diamonds from the Simbas is as badass as it gets. If you haven't seen this movie, it's available to see for free, in a censored version, on TUBI. Expand your vision, son.

My father took my mom out on a date, when he came home he walked in the door and said, "Boys grab your coats!" He took my brother and I to the theater and we watched the first Star Wars movie. It was the most incredible movie experience I have ever had. It was so far ahead of its time with the special effects and story line. I feel privileged to have been one of those who had the chance to see it when it first came out. By the way I have never seen my dad excited about a movie either before or after. It was awesome!

Gibbs literally stands up unarmed to a group of men intent on burning diwn a woman's shelter and froze them out long enough for backup to arrive. He is about to be shot when the cavalry arrives. Best scene in NCIS.

I watched both the MCU and LOTR sagas and have to say that the Captain America Endgame "on your left" scene rallied more cheers and sense of victory from both me and the crowd in the theatre than any LOTR scene. Don't get me wrong - LOTR totally kick ass but should not rank above the Endgame scene in my humble opinion.
